Description

The light roast is the most flavorful, and strongest.  When we think of light, or strength for that matter, we think of Jesus.  In John 8:12 Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai after meeting with God and receiving God’s law, his face shone with a glorious but fading light (Exodus 34:30). The weakening of the light from his face was to show that while God’s law is good and needed it is unable to get us to God (2 Corinthians 3:7). Unlike that fading light of Moses’ face, the true light, Jesus Christ lasts forever.  When you receive that Light, your life begins to reflect Him.  At first it might just be a spark and sometimes it flickers but by His grace as we walk with Him through this life that light grows brighter and brighter, until the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18) when we are with Him in glory.  Since Christ indwells His people, Jesus not only calls Himself the light of the world but he calls us the light of the world, now too (Matthew 5:14). And he tells us in the verse this roast is named after:

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
